Created by the US Army Corp of Engineers, Center Hill Lake is a 64-mile long reservoir. The Center Hill dam was built as a multi-purpose project for the development of water resources. Recreational use at the lake is permitted and encouraged but be very cautious and safe while on and in the water. Since it is owned and managed by the Federal government, the shoreline is natural and undeveloped, allowing for some adventurous hiking and exploration. The lake is a deep water lake that has excellent fishing for fish lovers. There are three waterfalls that fall onto the lake. Amenities include three state parks, eight marinas, five restaurants and nine Army Corps recreation areas.
