Mitchell Lake is a 5,850 acre reservoir that is 14 miles long in central Alabama. It is the smallest of six lakes found on the Coosa River chain. The lake is fertile, thus providing a high production of shad, which in turn results to a good number of game fish species. Species include walleye, largemouth bass and spotted bass for fish lovers; in-fact, since 1998, the bass fishery has been excellent, with individuals catching two to four pound largemouth and spotted bass.
